| As the year 2006 approaches its end, I have decided to end my Xanga blog and start using Blogger. I haven't used my Xanga very often anyway and have become quite used to using Blogger as a part of work. Plus a little birdy told me it would be easier to add comments on Blogger... and since I complain about someone else's blog having a lack of commentability, I decided to make the switch. My new blog is located at My Life as a Married Super Librarian or wyobookdiva.blogspot.com . Don't hesitate to let me know if I should change the layout, colors, etc. I'm also trying a new title, although I kept wyobookdiva as the address. Somethings never change. Happy New Year!! | | |
| Christmas was wonderful, but always too short. I'm back at work, which has been painfully slow. I've updated the look of my work blog and have moved on to this. I realize that the font is hard to read. I'll keep looking for a better Eeyore picture that will allow me to use a normal colored font. At this rate, I might be uploading photos soon . But don't hold your breath. As always, we forgot to take the camera home for Christmas! | | |
| My first book review has been published in the Fall 2006 issue of the Wyoming Library Roundup on page 21. Sadly, however, I hated the book and I don't say that very often. Since most of you know my book tastes, you'll be able to instantly see from the cover why I picked the book. I figured, "Hey, free chick-lit. Gimme somma dat." Well they did, and it wasn't. Chick-lit or good. Like I said in my review, the writer has a talent at writing for literary magazines like GQ and the Washington Post. However, chick-lit and romance readers don't enjoy running for the Webster's every other sentence. I would have quit reading in the first 30 pages had I not been obligated to write the review. It also made me feel better that a co-worker read the book and also hated it. She kept reading to see if it got better..... She still might be reading it 2 months later. It was so bad, in fact, that rather than keep my free hardcover edition to add to my ever growing home library, I donated it to our library so that my boss could spend the $25 on something better. | | |
| After wondering why my favorite Hawaiian bloggers don't have something quirky and exciting (or anything for that matter) for me to read everyday, it dawned on me or rather hit me like a brick that I shouldn't complain when I haven't blogged here since August. In my defense, I've been extremely busy but so has everyone else. So I promise to blog more often. And I'm not committing to how often!! Someday soon I'll finish the post (or try to) from June (eek ). It seems that Wendy's blogging style only works when you actually get back to it. Things I'd like to blog about: - married life
- the real life of a librarian
- family
- too much technology (myspace, xanga, blogspot, flickr, and the list goes on.........)
- where does the time go
